EFFINGHAM, ILLINOIS., Tick Tock Energy, Inc. has been named in Solar Power World’s 2015 Top 500 Solar Contractors list-“the most recognized annual listing of North America’s top solar contractors working in the utility, commercial, residential and off-grid markets.” Solar Power World and a 24-contractor advisory board ranked Tick Tock Energy 214th in the “Top Solar EPCs” category and 460th overall in the United States.
Brothers Eric and Craig Pals founded Tick Tock Energy Inc., headquartered in Effingham, in February of 2006. The Pals Brothers also work closely with their third brother, Matt, and their father, Mike, of Pals Electric, Inc., who supports the electrical installation of Tick Tock’s projects as a subcontractor. With the company’s ten-year anniversary approaching in 2016, Craig Pals is proud of how far his company has come and honored to make the 2015 Top 500 Solar Contractors list. Pals says, “The majority of the other companies on the list come from other places considered ‘hot’ markets for solar power, like California, New Jersey, and Arizona. We’ve completed many innovative solar installations and I think it says a lot about our company when we’re one of the few representatives from Illinois on the list. I’m very proud of that.”
Although most of their solar work has been in Illinois, Tick Tock has completed projects in nine states thus far. Their work ranges from solar and wind power installations to energy-efficient lighting upgrades to other energy-retrofit projects. They recently completed one of the largest (possibly the largest) residential solar array projects in the state of Illinois-a 37.8 kW residential ground-mount array. Tick Tock has also completed a wide variety of innovative solar PV installations including a hybrid solar and wind installation featuring 41 kW of solar PV mounted on various structures used to support the IBEW-NECA’s electrical contractor’s training program in Champaign, IL, a 49 kW solar carport in Alton, IL, numerous AllEarth 2-axis solar trackers, and many more, such as wall-mounted arrays, conventional roof-mounts, pole-mounts and ground mounts.
